L27 is 170HP and the L36 is 205

I think the 4T60 will be ok if you don't get TOO happy. It does seem to be more reliable than the 65 series. I just hope the mechanic got you a PCM and full wiring harness for that thing. There'* alot of differences, and it won't just plug in. Even the motor mounts are different.

I think stock for stock, the 60 is way better then the 65. However there is more aftermarket support fot the 65, but you won't need that unless you go silly fast.

Welcome to the club! You'll need to get the 95 or 96 year wiring harness from an SE or SSE model, so you can use the 4t60e and the L36 together. Lots of mods available for the L36.

OK,...So I have a stupid handle and I have no sizzle! The order had to be changed, and I had to order a L27. When the mechanic started piling up the part list, holy shi-it! I t was easier and cheaper to go w/ the original. Saved me big cash. It'* still going to be expensive but for a brand new motor w/ 3 year 36000 mile warranty that essentually plugs in, I guese u cant go wrong,...BUT... 170 hp,..damn that sux. But 35 extra horses aren't worth the big time extra bucks. I'll just steal you guys ideas and put on some add ons to make up the diff. Still I'm a little bummed.

Thanx Jim, I'm really looking forward to getting it back next week, and begin my mods. BTW, nice cars.
