You can drive when you're 14

Welcome to the club, btw.

For a school permit you can but only to school functions. She will only be driving to and from school. We live in rurual Iowa and there aren't route school buses for extra curricular activities so "mom and dad" have to change their work schedules to transport.

BELIEVE ME, I share your concern and I'm her father!!!

Welcome to the Club!

You can't find much better than a Bonneville for a first car. Enough power to satisfy the kid, but it'* a big car that'* built like a tank, extremely good in any kind of accident and eays on the insurance.
We've had people on this club drive home with dinged bumpers from accidents that completely totalled the other car. Rest assured, the Bonnie will take good care of her.

Thanks! Everyone on this forum has been very friendly and helpful. I almost think I'm on Team Chevelle! www.chevelles.com which is my normal "hang-out". I go by 70ChevelleRagtop over there...

I was able to resolve the code problem last night with a new TPS (I found an old one laying under the radiator so it looks like this car is on at least it'* 3rd one) Although, while repairin the problem, I managed to loose one of the screws in the process (that will teach me to try working on it while the engine was still HOT!). I'm off to the local Pontiac dealer this afternoon to pick another one up. Apparently the "screw fairy" picked it up and ran away with it because I searched under the hood, the undercarriage, and under the car for over an hour looking for it!

Welcome...

Be glad it'* the SE. If it were the SSEi you'd already have traded out of the S10 and would be fighting the wife for the keys.

It'* dangerous here... most of these characters will try to get you to mod things and get a little more out of the car. Not me though...I'm a nice guy
