It look like you've run her off MOS!

Oh well if she comes back :

Welcome to the club.

Sure hope I'm doing this correctly (posting a reply).

No, I haven't been run off - LOL! You people are great - just what I need right now. TY for the warm (and HEFTY) reception!! *no wonder he drives a Bonneville *

I'm in northern IN; about 25 miles * of South Bend. Any and all help in finding a reliable vehicle is appreciated. This is one of those, "if I screw this up; I'm screwed" tasks. And yes, you may call me Mel. Thanks for asking.

Welcome aboard. Sorry to hear about your SSE. What color was it? You might want to stay away from the white Bonneville'* -they seem to be very accident prone by at least a 10-1 ratio comparing to non-white Bonneville'*.
Here'* a couple sites you might want to use to look for a new Bonneville.
www.autotrader.com
www.cars.com
www.carsoup.com

No doubt ebay has something close to you -they never do for us in Minnesota. :(

I think that there should be plenty to choose from between SB and Ft. Wayne. Get a local Auto Trader and start browsing.

Can we ban MOS for that?

Nah, don't ban Mos... I like him. Could be I'm just a woman, though.

Thanks for the links, and yes, my 97 SSE was white. Being on a 90 degree blind curve in the dark didn't make much difference to the 83 Cutlass. Damn, I miss my car... The BOSE sound was the only relaxing part of my day!! I could open my roof in the dead of winter and still be warm (that wonderful climate control). Damn, I miss my car. The 2004 Impala rental is nothing more than a buggy ride in these parts. I liked the 2004 Trailblazer rental even less - talk about an ice boat in the wind...

What is Auto Trader? A magazine? Sorrry people... I'm not real bright when it comes to buying cars. Has anyone ever heard of Bart'* in Ft Wayne? Good? Bad?

If there'* 13 title records on a VIN check, should I be concerned enough to get a history? I think 13 is somewhat extreme ~ least I've found on what I've looked at is 8; and I didn't like the car... You all are probably laughing at me.

Sounds like all I do is complain. Honest - I'm a very nice person - and want my luxury back!!

Thanks for the help. I'll check out the links.

Sorry - excuse me. The rentals aren't 2004 models. It'* been a LONG month and a
SHORT rope. They're NEW - put it that way. now that i've made a complete fool of myself...

Yes, AutoTrader is a magazine, but if you're not a "car person", or someone like me who worked at a convenience store, and went through 500 dolar cars like candy, why would you need to know that?

13 on a history does sound a bit much, but they could be dealerships. Without the full history, you never know. Deathrat might be able to do something with a VIN code forya. Shoot him a PM....

I asked about Auto Trader because it was suggested in a previous post. Guess I've found an on-line version of the mag with one of the links... I really don't want to go to Dayton, OH to buy a car, but I've been known to - never mind

Car person? You bet. Decision person? Yuck. Not that I don't like the Impala - it just can't compare to the 65, 4 barrel, 3-speed on the column I learned how to drive in... Black w/red interior - but I'm off topic. That unit carboned-up every 10 miles.

My all time fave was my Le Mans. I've been a Pontiac car person since 1973, and swear I'd stll have that baby running if I hadn't gotten stupid and sold it (the red Ghia didn't work out so well). My Le Mans was dark blue and had the strangest paint job on the hood (probably wrecked; bought it for $50, not $500). It looked like a bird had walked across the paint while it was still wet.

Nuff bout me and my off-topic stories. Thanks for all the help.
