Default Sanity check for Magnaflow upgrade to 1997 SE

Hey gang, I'm about ready to upgrade my 1997 SE stock single exhaust to a Magnaflow dual exhaust muffler. (Yes I know this is mostly for looks.) From everything I've read on the forums, I should go with the Magnaflow 12266 muffler, which has 2.5" inlet, 2.25" outlets. Now I've checked my pipes and the pipe from the resonator to the stock muffler is 2.25". Will an exhaust shop be able to adapt my 2.25" pipe to the 2.5" Magnaflow inlet, or do I need a different Magnaflow muffler?

I'm also pretty stoked about the Ractive oval tip someone else has:
http://www.autobarn.net/raunextip.html

On my stock SE, these will just poke out below my bumper since I don't have bumper cutouts. That'* okay right? You guys won't laugh, right?

FWIW I got a quote from Midas today, and they wanted around $300 to put on a stock Camaro muffler with their cheapie non-stainless tips. I'll pass and order my own Magnaflow muffler and stainless tips. I'm keeping the stock Cat and Resonator.

Yes an exhaust shop will be able to make the 2.25 work with the 2.5.
