New guy from Canada (long read)
What'* going on guys and gals?
I have owned two Bonnevilles, a 91 se and my current car a 95 SSEI, but I have never been on a Bonneville forum. Crazy, I know. I got my first Bonneville in Late 2001. When I got the car it had over 450,000km'* or around 250,000miles. I drove it till just over 500,000 untill I bought the 95 from my brother. The 95 had over 250,000km'* when I bought it in late 02 and has over 400,000 currently. Both cars have their original engines and the 95 still has the original huffer. This is a testament to the 3.8'* durability.
My dad tought both my brother and I to not go over 2000rpm( obviously because they're autos you just had to keep your foot out of it) and to do regular oil changes. Driving the 91 like this was easy because it'* pretty slow and doesn't really compell you to drive fast. However, the 95 SSEi was a different story. Even before I bought the car from my brother I drove the heck out of it. I couldn't get enough of the supercharger and HUD. Going 200kph or 120mph( governed top speed) and seeing it reflected on the windshield was pretty cool to a 20 year old. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for something to go wrong.
I was racing around in Bellville Ontario, showing of, spinning the tires or tire and just acting like an idiot when disater struck or so I thought. I hammered it from a set of lights, heard a weird noise and the first thing I thought was " I blew the engine". After having the car towed back home my dad told me it was only the serpentine belt and that I was lucky I didn't do anything permanent. My brother was actually pretty cool about the whole thing and didn't even get that mad. Later that summer I bought the car of him $5000. I was very happy to own it.
I had a lot of plans to soup up the car when I got it but then my focus turned to rwd V8'*. I was going to buy a 2002 Trans Am in late 04 but somehow ended up with a 2003 SVT Cobra. That'* another story.
Unfortunately for the 95 time is catching up with it and the long Canadian winters have not been kind. This spring I am going to start parting it out. I will create a thread in the parts forum for anyone that is interested. Sorry about the read.
Oh yeah, here are some pics of the 95. I don't know if I have any of the 91.

Unfortunately to part it out. I will be looking for another one come fall. I have to find another winter car. I really can't think of anything else other then a Bonneville to drive. You can't beat those 3.8'*.
