Default inter cooling 3.8 series 1

New to site , just got in to the SC thing bought a fiero gt 1988 with a 3.8 and a 4t60e works very good 11.5 in the 1/4 and 36 mpg doesnt get much better . Saw some info on here from a while back on someone making a cooler and I think this would be worth the time and investment .

It will depend on how you make it. I've seen one where the LIM was opened up and a heat exchanger was placed inside. Personally I don't think that'* a good way to go because the LIM will get hot from the engine and you will end up removing very little of the charge heat. Another option is to get some 1" or so thick phalanic (sp) material. You can then hand make a IC core to any height you want. Otherwise aluminium, then you will need access to a mill. A few other things will then need to be changed, such as your fuel rails, and possibly your alternator bracket.

Do a search here in the forum under the username Billboost37 . He'* like the supercharger/3800 modder god here. Well, besides Dan too. But, 99% of his work deals with the Series 2, and I doubt he has any experience with the Series 1'*. But his work will give you ideas.

In terms of intercooling, both are the same. The difference is, there is no IC core for the S1 that I know of. Making a one off should be an easy task, if you have the tools. There was someone here that made a core, I'll try to find it.
