Hello everyone.
I don't even know where to begin. I'm a 22 y.o. college student majoring in IT trying to finish and get out. I'm not even a super car person but I thought maybe I could turn to the forums to get some kind of help. I have a Buick but my goal is to eventually get a 3rd Gen TransAM. But yeah I have a Buick Regal and its sad to say I didnt take care of her like the way I should.. I want to know if I can still make her last try to fix her up nice and turn her into a semi-sleeper. I would also like to know what things I could do as a beginner to help to upgrade my car that has minimal to no assistance and the difficulty is low, for right now and then work my way up. Any tips suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

welcome to the forum. i dont think the regal or trans am are much of a sleeper anymore, the l67 regal cat is out of the bag so to speak. i have learned the most important thing about modifying cars is to not mess with your daily driver. it will be more reliable for getting to work all the time if you dont have modified parts that break other stuff and are difficult to find. if you want a TA find one cheap and fix it up(keep the regal for a dd), all the engines completely suck for thirdgens so dont be afraid to get one with a blown motor or trans because you would end up changing it anyway. pretty popular thing to do now is put a 5.3/4.8 truck engine in it pretty easy swap and very good engine, 300hp and in a light car and od trans no reason you couldnt get high 20'* for mpg

A daily driver is indeed best kept stock.
I put my hard earned cash into keeping it well tuned, new spark plugs, new oil & filters frequently, fuel filter/air filter etc.
Ensuring it is running properly and not leaking anything is my priority.

Thanks guys, and yes deffenitly since the regal is my daily for sure, @softride: If that is the case, what can i do to just make it better as a daily driver? As of right now I'm having some problems I need to fix at this moment haha because theyre is inspection coming in a week so i want to know if there is anything that is wrong with the car that i can fix own my own without having to spend too much money. @jwfirebird: I will deffenitly try that, when i get a chance, right now im actually trying to get on my feet and build my finances so when the time comes i will deffenitly ask for help..
