Hey its never too late. And yes welcome to the forum. Seems a little strange that they would make shocks for this thing that required more pressure than the factory compressor could put out. Where did you get the shocks from?
I got the shocks from a GM parts distributor and they are listed as a superseded part.
There is a couple paper that came with the shocks one says if there are any problems look for leaks in the system. I did that and referenced the service manual too. I made a tester to check each shock individually, no leaksin them pulled the compressor and checked the accumulator, it was fine.
The other sheet said this set of shocks has a requires a minimum of 25 lbs pressure and max of 200 lbs.
Sort of odd for a system that is set for 7-14 lbs as its minimum residual pressue.
If there was a check valve to install to maintain the higher minimum I would understand the use of these shocks but nothing else was indicated.
To resolve the issue I went ahead and had the shocks changed out to the Monroe MA822 part number units.
I am going to voice my disappointment to the parts placebubt am otherwise screwed.
I work at a Community college in the auto dept. and had students do the work, they tossed the box before I figured there was a problem so returning them will only be if the supplier will take them.
Oh well I will use them for a classroom training aid and make an air ride suspension unit,so it goes.
Thanks for the interest at least there was a sounding board.
