Default I bought this instead of renting a car...

hey guys. I joined up because earlier I bought a '74 pontiac catalina to get me through the next few months while I deal with my two other cars and any info I can learn about it can help me sell it in a few months.

I bought a '74 ford ranchero GT when I was 16 and kept it for the 11 years since. recently the ranchero was rear-ended by an f-250 and it'* tied up until the insurance settles. I also have an '84 chevy blazer that desperately needs some minor repairs that are just a touch outside my skill level. so I found this catalina at a local dealership to hold me over until I get the others dealt with.

it'* a '74 catalina 4 door with a 400 and the odometer reads 92,000. it'* dirty and has some minor surface rust but the body is straight and the interior is decent. I gave $560 OTD for it including paperwork fees and it runs great and fires right up. it'* not collectible but it has a lot of life left in it so I'm hoping to sell it for a small profit when I'm don't need it anymore. the stereo alone probably cost whoever put it in as much as I paid for the car. the pic makes it look a bit nicer than it really is but it'* still a good car.

Not a bad looking car. SGP358 is the guy to ask about the older cars. He has a few of his own.

hey thanks guys. I love old cars because even if it'* not collectible it'* got more character, it'* cheaper, more durable, and easier to work on than anything in the last 20 years. I picked it up cheap and it would probably last me a decade or more if I wanted it to as long as I take care of it and I don't meet any pickups.

I forgot to mention what I had named it. I call this car the "HMS Brock Samson" or Brock for short. Brock Samson is a cartoon character from "the venture bros." voiced by Patrick Warburton.

Not bad for $560. It'* actually a pretty good looking car from the picture. Is there anything in specific you were looking for?

I posted in the pontiac board that I don't know anything about this model of car so I was hoping to find a VIN decoder and/or any info about trim, options, packages ect just so I know exactly what I have.
