Default Hi all, it'* Andy (acg_ssei) back again at last...

Hi once again. Seeing as my last visit here is listed as August 16 of 2010, it'* safe to say that I've been missing for so long, I might as well (re)introduce myself.

I was one of the Gearheads from the old Bonnevilleclub.com site years ago, but family activities and Real World business took me away for quite a while, to the extent that I had to go looking for the Bonneville Club later on, to figure out where it went and what had happened to it while I was away.

Sad to say, my reason for returning here now is that between the IRS and the orthodontist, it looks like me and my Beloved Bonneville™, a white 1993 SSEi, will have to part company soon. It'* been faithfully garaged all these years, but not driven a whole heckuva lot. (I believe the mileage on it is currently around 121K, and we deliberately chose January 1, 2000 to turn the odometer to 100,000.0 miles, so you can do the math to see that it hasn't done a whole lot of traveling since then.)

When it'* ready for sale, this site will be my first stop for listing it, as I know it'* most likely to be in good hands with someone here. It'* going to need some TLC, not because it'* unreliable (it isn't) but because it'* going to need a whole lot of deferred work done all at once: front end, exhaust, tires, that kind of thing. Cosmetically, it'* got some rust forming over the rear wheels, but the other panels are in good shape with a decent shine. Internally, its original R-12 Freon A/C still works (the condenser was replaced some years back), the original factory Delco CD player is still in the dash (though the CD player itself has quit), and the ABS and Traction Control are still good. (This is the car that was the subject of the old TechInfo article on rebuilding the dash gauge cluster, although I can't seem to find that article here anymore.)

I'm kind of disappointed in posting this, as I knew this day would come sooner or later, but time marches on, and the best I can do is make sure it goes to a good home. I'll keep you all informed as to when I'll have more details, photos, a proper sale listing for it, some idea of what to ask for it, etc. (In actual fact, the other vehicle we'll be looking at selling soon is a matching white 1996 Trans Sport -- same headlight assemblies! -- so someone with slightly deeper pockets can have themselves the matched set that we've been enjoying for many years...)

Cheers,

Welcome back! I wish you were here under better circumstances.

Good news is if you end up with another GM, you have a home here!

Wow, talk about a ghost from the past. Whats up, Andy? Sorry to hear about the troubles. We kept the lights on and the old boat Jeff built is still afloat and moving under it'* own power nicely. Whenever you can stop by, your always welcome.

Thanks, all. One thing that occurred to me this afternoon:

In hindsight, that makes it sound like I was in jail. Um, no, I wasn't, and we're all fine.

I'll have some photos up soon, once the weather improves around here. Storms predicted all weekend, I'm afraid.
