Hello Im new and need advise!
My name is Mike Im from Southern CA I have a 95' pontiac supercharged SLE engine mounted in my offroad car so I cant tell you how fast it is in the 1/4 or what kinda stereo I have but with all the smog BS and the factory computer replaced with a link system I made 292 hp and 342 lbs or torque I bought the engine this way it runs good but Im going to upgrade and have some work done like a custom exhaust made, bump0 up the timing install a new cam, and wanted to know if going to smaller puller is worth it its already so small compared to a series II, so any help would be great, Thanks Mike
yeah Im trying to get some pics up so you guys can check it out I saw one guy was running a 2.0 pulley is that to small and will it slip on the belt at high RPM'* remember my computer is totally tunable via lap top so I dont have to worry about running into a lean condition whats the stock boost and how much boost are these SC capable of running? I want to get the right one Im going to dyno the car in about a month and I want the right pulley to see a decent increase in hp, Thanks Mike
Anything smaller than 2.5 is gonna cause knock, and get into the heat-loss inefficient zone of the M62. Your performance will actually decrease at a certain point if you go smaller.
If you're worried about belt slip, do what I did. Go to www.zzperformance.com and buy the oversized idler pulley. It'll give you a little extra belt wrap around the smaller pulley, and helps you keep the stock belt length.

If you're running an intercooler, you could go smaller, but remember, the wear and tear on the SC is dramatically increased at the higher rpms.
Stock boost should be about 8-9psi at WOT. You should gain about 2 psi going from the 2.8 to the 2.5. Roughly 20-25 horsepower.
