hello gearheads
Thought I would say hi. Referred my a member to check out the info and cars. Now a little about myself....
My name is Chris, im 28, and I am a supercharger-ohlic. Im located in Michiagn, my summer ride is a 2001 Ford SVT Lightning with many of the basic bolt ons, I like to visit the drag strip when work permits, Im married (and she like to go to the drag strip with me), 1 son, I work in plastics (food grade), I work with a board member (hint, he has 2 ssei cars that he drives and 1 ssei parts car), and I can be a bit crazy.
I have been in search of another vehicle to replace the Lightning and Metro (winter beater) as my daily drivers (and be family friendly). I have less than a hand full of options I am considering at this point, but a SSEI is one of them. And me being me it will have to have performance upgrades. That is one of the main reasons I am here. I want to poke around and do some homework. The other reason is I have heard this is a group of people that get along and dont cut each other down. I cant say that for the SVT boards.
Chris

eww, F*rd, throw him out!!
j/k, The Lightning is just plain cool whether you're a F*rd guy or not.
Family friendly is the Bonnie'* middle name. Huge interior, lots of legroom in the back, big trunk, and lots of go-fast for Dad.

HEY, I learned the PM system plenty fast....
I just didn't get any PMs at first, and I didn't know anyone to PM them either..
Chris, check out the links section for go-fast goodies on the Bonnevilles
But hey, I took Chris for a small tire-roasting ride in the '03 , he was very impressed with the comfort and he didn't even adjust the seat
Welcome to the club Chris..... finally

I know I said my welcome... But...
It seems the Bonneville crowd is getting younger... I have looked at it this way for a long time... Dad or Mom needs a 4 Door family sedan... But they don't want to give up the Sport even tho they have to have 4 doors...
Now this doesn't just include the bonneville.. We are talking Olds LSS and LSS SC, as well as the Buick Park Avenue Ultra.... And even the LSS and LeSabre as well as the Base bonnies can be fun to drive... Not as powerful as the Lighting.. But you get the idea...
Its funny a lot of people are under the impression that a 4 door has to be un fun... Then they ride in or drive one.... Bonneville with SC and FE2 suspension... Or a Buick Park Ave with SC and F41( Firm Ride and Handling )..
and then you have the F41/FE3 Olds, F41 Buicks....
who would think that you can get a Corner carving 4 Door sedan, with a firm but not bone jarring suspension.... a performance minded axle ratio... and still get good gas mileage and get the family where they need to go...lol..
First Bonneville I ever drove was an 89 SSE... I still love Bonnevilles.. Love the ark Ave Ultras too... How can you go wrong with the whine

thanks for the welcome.
ya know, this might come as a surprise, but the gtp is not on my small list of possible family cars. its for only one reason.... the price. its not worth the price premium to me.
Ryan and Stephs 03 is so comfy its not even funny. WAAAAAY more comfy than the Lightning (but i didnt get it for comfort). Although the Lightning does hold me in a bit better with the bolsters.
Seriously though, a SSEI would be almost perfect for me. Lots of potential for power, 4 doors for kids friendlyness, good fuel economy, and great prices used. Whats not to like about that.
