My family has always been a fan of GM vehicles, and I've grown to like them.

First car was a 99 Cavalier Z24. I've put about 110k on it since I got it (was a pizza delivery drive from 18 to 20, and now drive 60 miles a day to and from work). Only things I've really had to fix are alternator, starter, and battery, other small things a long the way.

When my car needed the new alternator, I used my parents old 99 Trailblazer. It had 213k when the engine failed and they got rid of it (it was the vehicle that drew me to the Blazer)

Earlier this year I bought a 2002 Chevy Blazer. I love it. Only has 75k on it. It was weird driving a car that had less than 200k on it. lol. I still use my Cavalier for daily use and the Blazer for other stuff. Looking to buy a newer GM car, just not sure which one I want. lol.

It really is. My step-dad had a 06 Monte Carlo LTZ, which was nice, but in 2009, it had 110k on it, and the transmission failed on it. So It wasn't really that nice and I only drove it a few times. I liked the power it had, but I always liked the Trailblazer better. My mom had a 99, which I loved. I just wish I could have kept it, but we got rid of it after she died cause the transmission was slipping bad.

My step-dad was gonna give me his. I actually found out later on. But the tranmission started slipping so he got rid of it. I told him he should of let me fix it. The car only had 110k on it. Plus it was the LTZ, and had virtually everything shy of the V8. My Blazer would probably do 0-60 in 7 mjnutes. I love the big V6, but it gets no power. I feel like my 4-banger in my Cavalier got more power! haha.

I'd have been the happiest person in the world had I been able to keep those both and fix. Two of the best cars ever built imo.

transmissions are one of gm'* negatives unfortunately but the aftermarket seems to have a handle on it. i had the trans in my bonnie rebuilt and havent had any troubles since its similar if not the same as the monte one i think. the 4l60 in the blazer is much better than the 700r4'* they replaced and i have 170k almost on the one in my yukon. it seems the original owner had the fluid done a few times before i got it and i did that and new lines recently.

They do have the same transmissions. The ones without a supercharger or V8 have the same, and the ones with the V8 and supercharger have the same one I believe. I only have just over 75000 on mine. Got lucky finding this Blazer. Only paid $6000 for it too. I thought it was a good price, considering it has pretty much every option, minus a sunroof, dual power seats (onl left has it) and memory seats, which are things I didn't really need. Someone even installed a remote start on it, and living in Indiana, it'll be nice for winter.

I was surprised the Cavalier had as much power as it does. It'* a nice little car. Getting rid of it though. Probably gonna look into a 04-08 Cobalt/G5, Possibly even an 03-05 Cavalier.

that would be good if your mileage is city but if its more open you can get a 6cyl monte or impala and get the same mileage and a much better car

I would love a Monte Carlo or an Impala. My mom had an 04 and 06 Impala, and even a 95 Lumina, and my step-dad had an 97, 04, and a 06. So I've been around all them. Great cars.

I'd love to rebuild my Cavalier. It gets 24 mpg city. It just looks like crap, needs a paint job, new radiator, and needs tires. lol.
