Fuel pump died? New member/Bonneville owner (fixed)

Good news everyone! New fuel pump was humming with key in "ON" position and the car started right up almost immediately. Before disassembly I checked the fuel pump fuse and also tied that green connector by the battery to 12V and still wasn't working, so I proceeded to tear into putting a new fuel pump in. Did this outside with the temp near 95 and a heat index of over 110 with the humidity, whew!
Didn't go in town to Autozone to check for the fuel pressure guage set cause I wanted to tear into this as soon as possible. Figure I'll put a new fuel filter on this car next week, as I'm sure it could use one.
Thanks everybody for all your support, as this is my first time actually posting a problem on here, even though I've searched for assorted troubleshooting ideas for quite some time now. Hope I can contribute on here in the future!

200+ miles later and car is still running great. Starts easier when hot, especially in this hot weather, and I can actually restart car without having to turn the AC off first as I discovered early on this summer.

Should have changed my fuel pump sooner
Now that I've been driving my 95 Bonneville with a new fuel pump for about 3 weeks, I don't have any more odd starting or driving issues.
If the car was hot and tried to restart after 15-30 minutes, it would sit there and chug or sputter until it got enough gas to run smoothly. If you gave it more gas, you would just hear it sucking air. On a few occasions it would not start at all and I just had to wait a little longer. And I didn't dare ever try to restart it with the AC on when it was already warmed up, or else I would have to wait another 15 minutes or so.
Seems the week before it failed I was driving on the interstate and noticed the car beginning to "surge" above a certain speed, especially with the AC on. No problems though a couple days later on the 3+ hour return trip home running 75-80 mph.
