Normally when I start my 1993 Grand Am 3.3, I hear a click and the ABS light goes off after about 2 seconds and stays off. But now it only does this until the motor warms up, then, no click sound and the ABS light stays on all day. Next morning, exact same scenario. No trouble codes showing up. How can I fix this?

May I ask what you used to scan for ABS codes?

It'* a 93. Limited code information. I checked using the flashing "Service" light method. Got 12, nothing else. Let me reiterate. There'* no clicking sounds, just the light:

there are abs codes for obd1 you just have to have the special obd1 abs capable scanner. not sure how to tell whats going on other wise

I hope that'* the case, however, based on recent internet research I'm not sure that my make and model stores ABS codes. Are you sure they'd be in there and accessible with that scanner? If so, do any parts stores rent out that kind of scanner? Thanks.

I don't believe this vehicle has ABS codes. It only has a 4-pin ALDL connector > A, B, F, M. Already cleaned out the wheels at the self-wash place. Battery and alternator are new. My theory: a sensor is going bad and the engine heat slightly effects how the wires between the sensor and module conduct which, added to the effect of a poorly working sensor, causes the ABS light to turn on when the wires near the module (over the motor) are heated up.

if the car has abs, then it has to have a way to read the abs codes. the trick is finding the right scanner because all gm cared about was there own service techs so they arent all the same like the post 96 type. so its up the the aftermarket scanner companies to make ones that scan certain vehicles. the gm one was called tech one i think. i would call some shops and ask if they can get the code. the scanner is not likely going to be a cheap one you can get at the parts store
