Default 94 bonneville se?

Newbie here. Just got a 94 Bonne for free--kinda. Needed v/c gaskets, an alternator, and an ECM. All done. 167k, and runs awesome. I think it'* an SE. How do I tell? It is non-supercharged. Has a rear spoiler and "ground effects". Faded paint and clear, as usual here in so-cal (DESERT) CA. Thinking of some basic performance mods, like a Flowmaster, K&N, maybe a ricer style intake, and maybe a free-flow cat. Would love to chip it, just don't have the $$$ yet. What would be anyone'* first mods? I need ideas! The cheaper the better!

Thanks, and great info on the site!!!

Chris

just be sure to put your car in your signature as well.

if you want to find out information on performance, do a search for L27 performance or other search keywords. if you don't find what you're looking for, post a inquiry in performance and brainstorming comprehensively covering what you would like to do with your car and what your realistic budget is. the N/A series one is not as easy to significantly mod as a Series II, but in my opinion are alot less troublesome and therefore more reliable and more resistant to abuse.

do a search on trims and such, there are lots of things to differentiate the SEs from SLEs, SSEs and SSEis. If you have an SE and think you have "ground effects", you haven't seen anything yet, search in the your ride forum for photos across the years and trims and you'll get a good feel for what is out there, whats possible, etc. we have some seriously bad rides in this club, come with drool bucket at the ready.

but as mentioned... just go post that in P&B and we'll open you to some possibilities and all the information you'll ever want to know or never needed to know about the 3800 engine and these cars in general.

hang your hat, stay a while, its an addiction, and welcome to the bonneville club.

Default 94 Bonne Newbie

Thanks, and I guess you're right about the "ground effects" deal. Mine must be just an SE, but I know that the 3.8 series 1 is a badass motor, and can live forever. Just looking for a few more ponies to set me apart from the rest. Limited budget for now. What do you think of my Flowmaster and intake idea? Cheap HP, or a waste of time? I know both have helped my other rides.

Thanks-Chris

If nothing else the Flowmaster should at least make it sound better, and I think a CAI makes it sound different, too.
