Default Yukon Factory Build Duration

I want to buy a new 2025 Yukon in black but with the less common mocha interior trim. These are few and very far between with the premium package so I decided to use the very good build site at GMC and recognized the delivery date for my build would likely 3-4 months. However when I approach my medium sized GMC Dealer in the NY Hudson valley, they tell me just getting a build slot for the vehicle could take 1-4 months and THEN I would have to wait for the 3-4 month delivery date. This caught me totally off guard. I am about to spend $85k cash on a GMC but cant get a personalized build for 4 to 8 months!

Does anyone have experience of the build process or is this a dealer issue?

I would ask at least one other dealer and see what they say.

Yes that is my intent. The Kingston Dealer say they get notification of new build allowances every Thursday. The bigger the dealer the more "build" options they get apparently. My dealer gets "up to 2 personalized builds" per week.

My Dealer expected to get a Yukon Build allocation late today or latest next week but his view was that the build time, even if allocated a slot today or next week, would be at least 4 months and we should assume up to 6 months. After doing some more research over the past few days it was clear that trying to get a black 2025 Yukon with a mocha interior was the problem. We dropped that from the build request and found 3 vehicles available now in other States. So we are going to move ahead and get one now rather than wait and possibly pay more due to "tariff" impacts in 4 months. Therefore I chose not approach a couple of other dealers for a personalized build. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks for letting us know how that was working out. It'* always nice to get some insight as to how these processes are going.
