Default GMC Quality - Or Lack of

I purchased a 2012 GMC Acadia Denali. The vehicle had a list price of over $53,000 so I had high expectations for quality. I had only purchased GM vehicles over my last 40+ years of driving and traded in a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali with 84,000 miles because I was concerned about dependability since the vehicle was getting up in age.
Well .. in the 1 1/2 years of owning the Acadia it has been in the shop almost 6 weeks over the course of the time that I've owned the vehicle. All of the service was warantee related. Today .. the vehicle is again in the shop because the driver'* seat moves! My dealer would not provide a loaner vehicle even though I have never asked for a loaner before. I called GM and they authorized the loaner. I have no idea that the loaner would cost me $132.00!
I am done with GM ... I have no confidence in the Acadia. The transmission problems persist, the brakes grab at low speeds and I'm told that everything is normal.

I just purchased a 2012 yukon, and it broke down in the middle of the road! It would not go into gear, or move forward at all. I got the truck 4 days ago! You mentioned transmission problems, did you have something similar happen?

Sorry both of you have had troubles with your GMC SUVs. Guess a take-away is to do extensive research prior to buying a later model GMC SUV. Since bankruptcy, GM has been piecing together numerous drivetrains with various platforms in hope of delivering new models quickly to market. The results at times are vehicles that are issue prone. Some of us here are sticking to engines and platforms that are proven performers. I am not sure of many new GM products that would match as proven performs- except their full-size trucks and the Camaro.

I hate to say it, you should of kept your old rig. There is some vehicles Gm makes I will not own and the Acadia/ Traverse vehicles is one of them. The impalas, 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are a few I can recommend.

Anything based on the Saturn outlook platform Is junk. This includes Acadia, enclave, and traverse. Stay away from any vehicle that is equipped with the 3.6 engine. Trade your Acadia because your problems have only began.
