Default Wiper motor trouble

Bought and replaced wiper motor with linkage for 2004 GMC envoy. Turned key on, made sure wipers were in off position. Turned back off. Connected wiring, turn key on and wipers came on in off position. None of the switch positions synced with what the word were doing and none of the positions turned them off. It'* a remanufactured part. Do you think it'* we aren't resetting it properly or this part is bad?

What was the problem with the original motor?

Couldn't depend on it to work. It was random.

The original problem sounds like a bad switch to me.

The second problem could also be a bad switch.

I'd check the switch.
