Default what is that little screen for on the side of the fuel injector.

i replaced all my seals on my truck but notice i forgot to replace a little screen on the side of the injector is it important.the circle part in the picture is what i was talking about.

Nobody has replied to your question.............I've seen holes like that on other manufacturers' injectors, some had screens, some didn't.

I hate guessing!!!! But if I were to bet on it, and I had to guess......I would say that is a vent hole to help heat escape from the interior portion of the injector body. Some injector bodies get very hot due to under hood temps......

My best guess.....maybe someone has a factual answer.

Your image does not show up.
The only screens I know of are in the top portion of the injector, and are supposed to keep dirt from getting in and clogging the injectors.
Can you try to repost your pic?

I can see his pic....the injector is the TBI type of injector, not a port style.

I'll try to find a similar injector and post a picture.....the screen is located at that black circle.
