''service 4 wheel drive'' message on 2007 Z71 suburban 5.3. No code coming up on scanner. Anybody have any knowledge of problem?

A good shop scanner should be able to show the code. Snap On Ultra for instance.
This will give you an idea what is involved in the service 4WD message etc..
