Default Need advice asap

I have been getting Service Stability System on dic. Can not scan to see problem until tomorrow. It is kicking on low trac light when "service Stability" comes on and then either retards enginge or puts on brakes not sure feels like could be either.
I have to drive 100 miles eachway tonight to get parts for my tractor trailer. Can I unhook the wheel sensors like I would at dragway to keep from harming the car any further?????

Do a search on 'service stability system' in this section. You'll find TONS of information to solve your problem.

Yes if you pull the sensors before starting the car the traction control will be disabled.
Usually this is an indication of a bad bearing/wheel speed sensor but we will need to look closer before making that call.

If you scan, one of those Autozone jobbies will not get 'er done. From my experience only a Tech II will read the codes. Can you say, "Hello Dealer."?

Default Service Stability System and Low Trac

I am having the same problems as mentioned in the other threads regarding the low trac and service stability system.
I took my 03 SSEi to my mechanic, he scanned it and NO faults at all...in anything.
The damn car is really aggravating to drive.
It will jump right out of cruise and give me the fault. Sometime I will feel the brakes come on when NOT using cruise. The low trac light comes on, the service stability system warning and the ding ding ding.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to do now?
Would flashing the computer help?
Car has 75,000 miles on it.

You need to find a mechanic with the proper scanner. It sounds like the one used on your car didn't have the full GM abilities.

The steering position sensor has been the major cause for the service stability system warning. However, a wheel speed sensor being bad in the hub has happened often enough to where it has to be considered - especially considering the low traction light.

As mentioned, you'll need someone with a Tech II or similar scanner that can read the speed sensors and body codes.

He was using the Tektronics 2?
He said it was the same scanner the GM techs use.

Many scanners are close to what GM uses. However if he couldn't see certain parameters.. it isn't the same. A friend has an older Snap On scanner that has been updated and I've seen the wheel sensors etc when using it. Some of the scanners do, some don't..
