Default noise when turning

Vehicle: 1999 GMC Jimmy 2d 4x4 SL 4.3L V6

Problem: For a while now ive noticed a vibration/hum/buzzing sound coming from (i think front) right side when turning gently left at cruising speed i.e. changing lanes. it does the same thing when i gently turn right, the noise amplifies on left side.

My personal diagnosis: bad wheel bearing/hub assembly.

since initially the noise i noticed was more prominant on the right side, i replaced the front right wheel hub assembly (with bearing). this did nothing to change the noise, it still does it.

there is no real noticeable noise while cruising in a straight line, however it may be there, i feel like i can hear something, but not completely sure. it seems so much more prevelent when i veer to the left or right. during the removal and installation of the new wheel hub assembly, nothing unusual occured, it all went very smoothly and easily.

is there anything anyone knows of that i should consider looking at next? could a worn shock absorber cause me to hear road vibrations when the weight is shifted to the wheel more than it can absorb? or could i have worn sway bar bushings that, under load, are causing vibration/noise to transfer through the chassis and echo in the cab?

any ideas are much appreciated, or anyone with similar problems, whatever you can help with i appreciate

thanks
justin

alot of times both wheel bearing go out at the same time. wither that or your shocks/struts are going resulting in shark fin type wear on the tires. if you rub your hand over the shoulder of the tire it feels like a shark or fish scales one way and smooth the other.

bad axle/ cv joint as SSEi mentioned. Common on your vehicle. Check the boot(*) and look for a tear, look for grease spread in a pattern. Orielly sells cardone rebuilt axles for around $80. Not to hard to replace.
