Default Internal Engine Part Identification

I am hoping someone will recognize this part:

Car: 2010 GMC Acadia SLT AWD
Engine: GM V6 3.6l VVT HF

The Top of part has a wire mesh looking filter.

I believe the part came from the engine block where the oil filter bracket bolts the engine:

Background: I had pulled the engine to replace the timing chains. As part of that process, I had removed the Oil filter and the support bracket. I had placed an empty catch basin to catch the oil coming from the holes in the block where the oil filter support bracket mounts as I was turning the crank shaft. As I was getting ready to put the engine back in the car, I found this part in the catch basin while draining the oil from the basin.

As I mentioned above, I believe it sets in the block where the oil filter support bracket mounts, but I am not sure of the orientation or which orifice it goes into.

I appreciate your assistance.

Hard to tell without more pictures, but I think this is the anti-drainback valve and it goes spring-last into the hole on the lower left. I think.

I appreciate your reply. What additional pics would you need to be sure?
