Question 3800 oil filter

Does anyone know if there is a bigger oil filter that will fit the 3800NA engine. I found a big replacement for my dodge caravan engine.

I dont know of one off hand, but im sure there are options for a bigger one... but i have to ask why you would really be after one thats bigger? the stock one works perfectly... and its the same filter for the NA and SC motors so there really shouldnt be a need for an upgrade on the filter.

I don't think there is enough clearance to go any larger in diameter. There are after market adapters that allow you to use an off-engine filter that can be larger, but I don't know if I would invest the money. Just keep up with regular oil and filter changes.

The K&N performance gold is a bit longer then the standard filter and hold a extra 1/2 quart of oil bringing the capacity up to 5 quarts.

Martman
Are you talking about the AC Delco PF52 oil filter that is longer than the PF47?

What filter are you using now?
