Default Help! 2004 GMC Sierra

Help! 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 Hello,

I have a 2004

Sierra 1500 and I just recently did a 6.0 swap (had a 5.3).

Pulled engine and trans to have it rebuilt/replaced. Doing so I ended up damaging my clock spring. Ordered a replacement clock spring and replaced it. Once replaced, I noticed that my gear indicator doesn’t work and I have a no crank, no start.(thought it was the neutral safety switch so bought a replacement) after that, I also noticed my fuel pump doesn’t turn on with the ignition. But, if I jump pin 87 to direct 12v the pump will turn on.

Kinda at a loss with what may be happening to my truck. I’ve tried cleaning the grounding surfaces, making sure everything had good contact.

If y’all have any ideas, it would be great.

Something is wrong here. All of these things don't run through the clock spring.

It seems like something became disconnected while you were replacing the clock spring.

Not that I know. Thought it had to do with the extra harness but was told that was for Quadrasteer trucks. Have any basic areas I can check to see if something is wrong?

After eng/trans replacement did it run and then this issue started after column repair? There are 2 grounds on the back of the left head G103 and 4,are they both secure? Is the PCM B fuse good in the under hood fuse block? This fuse is power to the fuel pump relay and should be hot all times. Does the fuel pump relay click when the key is turned on? Fuel pump relay control side gets power from the PCM and grounds at G104.The IGN E fuse supplies power to the PNP switch. With the key on is any part of the Fuse blocks "dead"? Just a few thoughts along with go back over what was done just before the issue started. Like was prevously mentioned perhaps something came loose or was over looked upon reassembly. Hope you find this helpful

No, has not been able to run since replacement. I don’t think the relay clicks when I cycle the key in the ignition. I will double check the PCM fuse to make sure it’* not blown.

Go back over all the groungs and connections.the 2 grounds on the rear left side are for the fuel pump relay and the PNP both systems your having trouble with, and check the fuse block making sure its all powering up.Were assuming you removed a 5.3 w/ a 4l60e and reinstalled a 6.0 with a 4l60e,just checking

So, you didn't do anything with the PCM, but you expect a 5.3 PCM to run a 6.0 engine?

What trans was in it and what did you put in it?
