Ok so i know this is common problem but id love to talk about it for a change cause im unhappy bought my 09 lil while back i am at the end of my second oil change.. Im at mayne 4,000on this change. When i bought it they did fresh oil change and that time i put about a quart in it.. This time i have put 4 in it !!!!!! 1 quart after about 2000 miles then last sat it started knocking and i put 3 in it for total of 4

That'* a lot of oil.

You say "they did fresh oil change and that time i put about a quart in it" so I wonder if they didn't fill it enough or . . . ?

You say "I'm at maybe 4,000 on this change" and "This time i have put 4 in it" etc.

When you put a quart in at 2,000 miles did that get it back to "full" on the dipstick?

When you put three quarts in at 4,000 miles did that get it back to "full" on the dipstick?

How many miles are on this poor car?

What kind of car is it?

What trim package? (yes really, in case we don't know its history the trim package could at least tell us what kind of life it may have had, i.e. rubber floor mats for a fleet vehicle or leather for Britney'* anonymous chauffeur car)

That'* a lot of oil.

Any leaks/puddles under it?

Any oil coating anything underneath?

Any puffs of blue-ish smoke from the exhaust?

Where does it live?

Was it ever a fleet or rental vehicle?

Purchased from a dealer?

Any kind of warranty?

Was it ever on an episode of Top Gear? (yes this is a bit of a joke but if the answer is "yes" it could help explain things)

Many of these engines around this model year have oil consumption issues. Good first step: Find out if there are any open recalls on this one at a dealership.
