GM 3.6L 215k Clatter on startup
Posted multiple places but cant seem to find a answer yet...
2014 traverse 3.6l
startup clatter started around 168k, now its at 215k
start clatter only happens when car sits for 1hr or more, lasts about 1/2 sec then goes quiet
I "think" the clatter is from a worn lock pin on the cam phaser
The car runs great, orignal motor, trans, timing chains, phasers, etc.
My question is: If it is the lock pin and the cam is slapping back and forth until oil pressure builds, how long will it run like this? Could it run this way forever? Or is this wear going to cause another issue?
Thanks!
