Default Found my problem, don't know what the part is called

Good evening. I have a leak and cooling issue, and have finally found the culprit, but have no clue what the part is called.
It sits directly underneath the thermostat housing neck. It resembles a PC valve, only a little bigger. The other end of the hose runs to somewhere by the driver side firewall, can't see for sure.

Sincerely,
Idiot

Welcome to the forum.
What sits below the thermostat housing is the thermostat.
For your 2002 Silverado (4.3) in diagram part # 6 is the thermostat- is that what you need?

No sir. This part is located underneath the other side of the thermostat housing. It'* a different piece all-together

Bump-Does anyone know what coolant line this might be?
Thanks for the pics..
To identify it, would be nice to know where it goes to.
