96 gmc tranny problem??? Help please
Yea I'm stumped, I'm gonna replace can positioning sensor, and clean egr, I'll keep updating my proggress on here, I've heard there'* a way to disable tcc lockup if perhaps it was that in overdrive, something to do with running wire from brake to tranny, prettY much fooling the tranny to thinking the brake is always on or something
I got around to workin on it, I was gonna replace the cam sensor but turns out it was unplugged the whole time! Lol I plugged it in and all seems fine, no more buck/jerk for now, I've noticed that the going into 3rd it revs up about 2 or 300 rpms before it shifts, is this normal? And if perhaps the tranny was slipping would a tranny flush do anything? Otherwise it seems to shift just fine through all gears
usually once they start slipping its only a matter of time, because the slipping speeds the wear. you could change the fluid and add some trans honey, but that might gain you a month or a few days, who knows
If the trans is truly slipping, a trans flush would be the last thing you want to do. Draining out old oil also drains out all the clutch material which is actually kind of help you. For a awhile anyway. I say take it to a trans shop for a professional diagnoses.
