Wait, did you change the fuel pressure regulator or the entire spider injector assembly?

So, what about spark plugs, wireset, distributor cap, rotor? All of those can cause incomplete fuel combustion.

Well, it'* spark, fuel, or compression......

Did you check spark output at the end of each wire with a spark tester?

Did you check fuel pressure with a gage?

When you replaced plugs, did you notice if any old plugs stood out as wet, carbonned, etc? Did you use OEM replacements?

If spark is ok, hopefully the new spider(new or used?) is ok...then you might have to check compression on each cylinder.....

Also if you did replace the cap, that cap has to be adjusted with a scan tool, I believe for that year.....
