Dec. 21 experienced lifter failure causing bent pushrod. Diag code P0300 and P0307, #7 lifter failure, left side engine.
It was fixed under warranty, we experienced trip interruption and requested a CCL (Corporate Coverage Letter) and reimbursement for expenses to get home, but GM hasn’t indicated payment coming. I’m frustrated it’* taking 4 months of back and forth with GM Customer Advisors to no avail. Can anyone help me?

I'm not a lawyer but you will do better with one. much better. He'll be able to get his fees covered as well.

Does your warranty (and and other coverage) cover this kind of thing?

No. Auto insurance rider will cover a percentage for rental cars, however GM warranty covers defective parts and services only.

Yeah, a lawyer would be your best chance.

That having been said, if there isn't some kind of contractual device in place that obligates some reimbursement for consequential or incidental losses auxiliary to the actual break and fix, then I'd estimate that you aren't going to get far. I believe the warranty has wording built in that specifically prevents this.

After months of emails, phone calls, texts, etc. - I gave up since I thought the only way to get resolution for reimbursement of my "trip interruption" due to this engine failure was to hire a lawyer, as others mentioned in this forum. Well, my wife took over the challenge. She went to Twitter and was able to obtain a whole new batch of Customer Advocates within the GMC Roadside Assistance Center. She submitted all the exact paperwork that I had, but low and behold, her success was achieved. I received in the mail just yesterday, a reimbursement check for my rental cars, airfare, insurance, and gasoline expenses. (my wife and I were in Colorado and experienced the lifter failure leading to a bent pushrod (left cylinder bank #1 cylinder intake valve) thankfully, we limped to Vince'* GM in Burlington, CO who fixed the engine under warranty, but we live in Illinois, so I had to rent a car, airfare from and to, to and from IL to CO). Anyhow, I'm updating this to let other people that may have experienced a "trip interruption" that there is still hope to get resolution aside from hiring a lawyer. I do now have a renewed faith with GM and it'* wonderful to know there are still incredibly helpful people within GM that saw to it and corrected our problem. I've put almost 10,000 miles on the engine since the fix and it seems to be running fine. However, GM only allowed the GM Certified Mechanic to replace all of the 8 lifters on the left bank side and only the one bent pushrod. Fingers crossed the right side lifters of the engine will be ok.
