Hey Guys,

I apologize if this has been discussed before but can anyone identify this ticking sound? Only happens after a cold start, when the RPMs drop back down to idle. You can definitely hear it on the drivers side when standing outside the vehicle, more prominent from the outside of the truck than popping the hood. Goes away after a minute or so. Brand new Yukon with the L84, 5.3. Less than 900 miles. Thanks!

Sounds like a lifter to me. I say take it back to them for a warranty claim.

If they give you jazz like "that'* normal for this engine" etc. have them show you at least a few new ones on the lot that do that as proof.
