Default 2018 Silverado warranty
I recently purchased a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. I would like to get a new exhaust put on it.
Can I do this without voiding the factory warranty?

Probably best to consult with the dealer before making any exhaust modifications & ask if it would effect the warranty.

Changing the exhaust shouldn't cause warranty issues unless your disabling emissions or if the alterations from O/E causes a failure.

Thank you, when I asked the guys at the dealership they said I should check on a GM forum to make sure it won’t affect the warranty.

Run away from this dealership and find one that doesn't say things like this. They know this answer . . . or their answer isn't worth your time as it is not based on knowledge. Shipping you to a forum won't hold water if the forum says "yeah sure" and GM decides your warranty is affected by the modifications.

The dealership should have been able to discuss any warranty issues.
The dealership may also have been referring to an official GM chat forum.

Thank you for that information. I really do appreciate all the help. I love ant to upgrade my truck but I don’t want to void the warranty. Maybe customer care can give me a definitive answer.

And I'm curious about this

I'm just looking to upgrade my exhaust. I would like to take my truck to an exhaust shop I know and trust as I’ve had them do work on a couple of my other vehicles. I want to put a Borla exhaust in it.

I just want to upgrade my truck. Nothing too crazy, I take my vehicles to an exhaust shop locally and I trust their work. I know I can buy a Borla exhaust off the Chevrolet website. I just want to make sure that I’m doing this it isn’t going to void my warranty.
