Driving around and accelerated and the car jumped like I had been hit from behind! On the way home stopped at a stop sign and it would not accelerate. Will not reverse either. Has about 215k miles. Had it towed back to the house. Starts fine, I can shift into gear fine, when you press the gas it won't do anything. It feels like the emergency brake is on but of course it'* not. Checked fluids they are fine. Battery died so replaced it but still won't drive/reverse.

If you manually shift it through the gears you get nothing?
Does the engine rev like it'* in neutral? If so, it sounds like the pump has failed.
Need to put a pressure gauge on it.
