2011 Silverado 6.7 Diesel idle
I have tried to research this but am not finding a lot out there. Please help!
I have the 2011 6.7 LML (yes def, etc). No modification have been done.
Owners manual warns against long idle periods... My question relates to idle specifically.
I am a welder and sleep on the road often in the truck. I want to be able to idle all night like I use too with my gas trucks.
If I have the ecm flashed for the high-idle option (not the high idle warm up) that is used for high idle for pto or something. Is it feasible to idle for hours and hours??
If not why? I don't need to hear about California and places like it that have laws against night idling.
I want to know on a technical mechanical reason I can or cannot. If it is not then what can I do? Def delete, etc programming factory high idle?? I would to love to hear from you'* guys.
Thanks a million in advance!
