1997 GMC K3500 Air Core Stepper Motor
Anyone know where I could buy a NEW Air Core Stepper Motor (speedometer one)? See all kind of used, but so is mine and it doesn't work. Have searched the usual vendors, but....have yet to find one..
I've gotten a bunch here: https://floridaspeedometer.com/
They'll do the work for you too, and fast shipping!
I usually do them myself to save downtime, but had one done for a friend while the car was going to sit in my driveway for other things. Charlie had all of the motors swapped, glass replaced, and unit packaged and tagged within ten minutes of my delivery alert.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for explaining the air stepper motor thing and providing some shops, too. Amazon sells them for newer models. I am still confused about the stepper motor for the speedometer. I did not know GM used them in 1997. Thought it was a round year 2000. About the same time (I thought) GM started to use Actuators for the AC. Am I anywhere close on this one? Is it time to hide in the corner and face the wall? Kidding. Either way it would be good to know the info. I am getting ready to replace the stepper motors in the dash and the actuators for the A/C and passenger door control. Oh. And all the light bulbs which are burnt out too. It will be a project. Especially since the battery just died today only to find out that the acid ate a hole in the floorboard. Ok. This will be my project for the remainder of the year.
