1993 Chevrolet k1500 4l60 auxiliary cooler
We are putting a new 4l60 transmission in my sons 93 k1500 5.7L pickup. The new transmission came with a auxiliary cooler. We are replacing the lines and radiator also. Is it a good idea to install the auxiliary cooler also??? If so do we mount it in front of the a/c condenser behind the grille??? Thank you for your feedback.
While I agree with carfixer007 ^^^^^^^ . . .
I'd put one on anyways.
I've never had a 4L60 run too cool, but just in case, run it in this order:
transmission >>> auxiliary cooler >>> internal radiator cooler >>> transmission
This way, if the cooler is getting the fluid way cold because you are in Alaska in winter or something, the fluid can get warmed back up passing through the radiator.
