07 gmc trac control

It'* a 2007 gmc Sierra 5.3L 4x4. While driving traction control light comes on and shifts hard. The temp of the vehicle doesn't make a difference. Weather it'* cold or up to operating temp. Any idea?????? I've heard it is a common problem. But no confirmed fixes yet.
