I doubt you'd get chunks like the old cars did....modern fuels have better detergent. But then again, even small pieces could clog up a good cat or muffler.
Getting the carbon off could take time, but then again, doing it every now and then wouldn't hurt, either. Spray enough in there to ALMOST stall the engine at idle, or rev it up manually and do it.

Do a search on 'water injection'. All the answers are already here. This is my 4th system on this car.
Then google it. Water Injection has been used since 1911 on the beach at Daytona, and was used extensively in WWII in our bombers. It gave the B17'* and B24'* (with their supercharged engines) the altitude advantage over the Japanese and German fighters.
