Default Winter rims for the GXP

I'm keeping my eyes open for a set of stock GXP rims to use as winter rims. I really dont wanna run my black ones for winter, but i will if i have too

Question
I have a set of 2006 Grand Prix GT stock 17" rims
any idea if they would fit on my car? im sure bolt pattern is the same, but any idea on the offset and width?

I think the biggest problem will be caliper clearance on the front. You'll only have a few millimeters between the 17" wheel and caliper. GXP'* had 18'* for a reason

Right, but I don't think the spare tire is a 17". I do believe a 17" rim will fit, but don't quote me on that.

If you have a set of 17" GP rims, put them on and see if they fit, lol.

As long as you have any caliper clearance it will stay the same unless you have a burnt bearing.

Still have to see if the 17 will fit. Some spares are only made to fit the back tire so you would need to bring a back tire front if you get a flat in the front.

Not all Wheels are made the same.

The Spare will fit the front !

A 17" Wheel from a GP will but you will not have enough clearance between the wheel and caliper. If snow and Ice build up there you will have issues.

Put the car away and drive the Escalada

This has me confused. I ran the Regal for a while with the factory 15" rims and got plenty of snow and ice inside the caliper and wheel, and let it freeze up over night. The clearance between the 15" rim and the caliper was very, very small. You know how I fixed it? Gave it a nice jolt of 3.8L torque and that had absolutely no problems. If

I've seen 17'* over a GXP front brake set up and you could put two credit cards between the caliper and wheel, that'* all the clearance you get

17'* will fit over GXP calipers and rotors but you must make sure that you have the back spacing for them or bad news. i have a pair of front GXP calipers sitting here that were going to be put on my ride until the recent unfortunate events. so basically only 17" bonnie wheels will cut the deal right for ya
