As far as I know the window goes down halfway not because of safety but because it wouldnt fit all the way down. I used to think it was safety but then saw my dads 03 camry windows go down all the way and realized if it was a safety issue the camry would only go halfway as well.
Pontiac states it as a saftey issue but we all know it isnt anyway there is NO room for it to go down any further.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, i feel like a mad scientist that discovered a way to create life, now the challenge is actually doing it. from what i can see, there is room for the window to go down at least another 4 inches but theres a mechanism that only brings it down to where it is now, i have to figure out how to mod that part. another possibility is to have the windows go down and to the front, as opposed to down and to the rear like they do now but that will slightly more complicated. im off to see the wizard, i mean i need help with this.

Things could be worse. I believe the Pontiac Bean Counters of the 80'* decided not to have rear door windows that go down at all in the Pontiac 6000.

Personally, I don't see why they couldn't done a better job of designing that featur, because I would think more people would want them all the way down, than half way down!
