Default Will It fit.......

Ok so I went to go drive franky the other day and when i floored it, the car pulled extremeley hard to the right and the steering got very uncertain...

Checked the wheel and theres play from side to side, no play in the ball joint and outer tie rod... checked the inner tie rod and that is firm too.

The shaft for the rack itself is loose so it looks like i need a new rack....

Now franky SHOULD have a 97 Magnasteer rack if im not mistaken (feel free to chime in here bill or randy....)

Now i have a parts car now and its my old 90 sse and its steering is just fine, it just has a busted subframe at the control arm mount..., would the rack from it mount up and work on the 97 frame? (oh please somebody know this.... PLEASE)

Here is what I found on http://www.partsamerica.com/Default.aspx

P/N for 1987 to 1995
22105, 22106, 22124

P/N for 1996 to 1999
22160

Just click on the link on the page to see models it will fit.

For the 1990:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...pe=252&PTSet=A

For the 97:

I hope this helps?

um if I'M not mistaken, there should be no problem. Does the magnasteer system HAVE to be hooked up? Otherwise it is just a simple hydraulic system, and the regular rack designed for the 90 should be just fine? I mean...logically anyways...although, these cars defy logic daily.

Someone DO tell me if I'm wrong...

edit: hmm..just noticed...you're talking about the frame mounts..

simplest way to tell is....get under there and LOOK. measure...check eet out! But I imagine it'd be the same...i mean...2 h bodies, how different could they be?
