Who else has a 2001+ with a bubbling hood?
I know this is a known problem and the 2001+ weren't supposed to have this problem but I read at least 1 other person had the problem. The '01 I am looking at has this problem all across the front of the hood on the underside and a little bubble on the top. Called the repair shop and they want ~$450 without even looking at it (so it could be less) to strip everything down and repaint. I would probably just drive it until it gets so bad the paint starts falling off then get it down, is that okay?
And how many other 01s have this?

I can see why you posted here, but this isn't mechanical, so I will move to General Chat.
Also, I know of a few that have this (toasty is one I believe). My cousin has a 2000+ LeSabre with the same problem as well. $450 doesn't sound like a bad quote to get it professionally fixed.

i have PERSONALLY seen 3 2002s with blistering hood for sale at dealerships.
and 4-500 seems about right from what i have heard from people.
There is really no harm in letting it go for a while before fixing it, since it is aluminum and will oxidize at a MUCH MUCH MUCH slower rate than steel

Mine had it when I bought it, and had the dealership fix it as part of the deal to buy it. The Oldsmobile Aurora and Buick Riviera also had this problem. I saw on a board someone with a Riviera (late 90'*) that had the paint peeled off all across the hood, and then they had it repainted. They said it looks good and no problems. Don't know how long since the repaint. Supposedly though, if it'* done right it won't happen again.

I've yet to see an Olds Aurora with that problem (95-99) and I haven't (to the best of my knowledge) seen a 2nd Gen Aurora with bubbling paint on the hood.
Whenever I look at 2000+ Bonnevilles, I check for 2 things, rear window regulators and bubbling hoods.
