what'* it worth??
My folks bought another car, so it looks like their black on black 2000 SSEi is going up for sale. 40K miles, upstate NY, never hit, never smoked in.. Interior is flawless, a few stone chips.. Has everything imaginable except the chrome wheels. Babied. Maintained properly. Yes, it has seen salt, but only on rare occasions, they spend a month or so each winter in Florida, and I live in Ohio so a lot of the miles is highway. Original tires, still good. Everything works. Dealer serviced. Rear brakes make noise, front brakes pulse.. so.. it need brakes. I get first refusal, but I think I will pass on it because it doesn't fit my overall picture right now. So, when Dad puts it out on the front lawn, what should he ask, and what should he get? Honestly please, I'm trying to get them good information. Thanks.. Mike

I suggest running it through KBB and Edmunds. You know all the options, mileage, and condition.
This puts you in a much better position to price the car than our guesses.

worth...
Private party at KBB puts it at about $9300 in their zipcode.. I was just curious if what the books said coincided with reality..
I'm not sure what he'll ask for it, it will depend on how much pressure my Mom puts on him with her doomsday "It'll never sell, we should have just traded it in!!" Poor guy.. My wife and I have a pact that if we ever get like that, we'll hire someone to shoot us!! LOL Mike

In Upstate..there are a good amount of Bonnies. Which would lower the price as there is more competition to unload a car that most aren't looking at specifically. However with the low mileage and lack of rust..it stands out.
