I'm thinking about putting some new bulbs in there but I'm not sure on what wattage to get because I've heard stories of melting plastic and whatnot.

Stock wattage are 55 for Lows, 65 for Highs and 27 for fog. I think.
Don't bother buying high beam bulbs because there will be hardly any difference. You have a 97 so you have a glass cover and ceramic backing, you won't have to worry about melting.

Is $20 a piece a good price for some Silverstars or can I find them cheaper some where?

Just saw some at walmart the other day for like 37 for the pair of them. It will be about 40 bucks with tax though.

20$ for a pair or singles? I think that'* for a single bulb, Silverstars usually are around 40 for a pair. The silverstars are a good buy IMO, they are close to stock watt and do improve the lighting and give a almost white hue to your headlights. Otherwise you can find blue tinted bulbs around for less.
