For the '93 SSEi:
Decided to get a car. Friend had a GTP, so I decided to go supercharged. Looked on eBay and found it with a Buy It Now price of $2500. He also mentioned that he would consider partial trade for any muscle car. I had a '71 Torino with the 351 Cleveland and offered it, and he took it for $1500. Drove the Torino to Missouri and picked up the SSEi.
For the 2000 SSEi:
Decided that I wanted a 2000 SSEi, but set my limit at $10,000. Had a hard time finding at first, then Tamara announced that she had to sell hers for $13k CDN. Exchange rate at that time was 72%. So, I called the bank and they said, "Get it!" :P Thanks, Tam!!

Went to look at a 90 Rolls Royce and fell in love with my 93 SSEi setting next to it. I guess that is the end of the story.

Mine was my parent'* first, they got from someone else as it came off a two year lease. I then bought it from my parents last November, although it was pretty much mine for a year already.

in 1990, my mom was driving her '85 VW Golf Diesel, then bam! this beautiful red car goes flying past her, love at first pass. They were looking into selling the golf since it was a pile, and slow. She mentioned the car to my dad, who instantly knew it was a Bonneville. They looked around for one, but couldn't find one that was affordable. One day my dad passed by the local Pontiac dealer, and saw this white '89 Bonneville. He instantly pulled in and wanted to test drive it. Test drove it, fell in love. My dad wanted to know the history of the car, being the car guy he is. The dealer had a phone number for the previous owner [the only owner], talked to him, and he didn't put anything but mobil 1 in the car, never parked anywhere but at the back of the parking lot, never had an accident. My dad fell in love, and drove the car out of there for $11,900. My mom went crazy when she came home that day and it was beautiful in all its glory. My dad had her as his daily driver, my mom seldomly driving it since my dad wouldn't let her. After we moved to Michigan in '99, the car was my mom'*, and once my dad split, he took the suburban only because the alterternator was dead in the bonne. My mom bought her '04 beetle in late May, she gave me pearl, and she is in pieces now.. being "fixed" [my mom referes to it as "fu*king it up"] lol.

Back in March 2001....
Guy at dad'* work was selling it
dad was interested... $2000
replaced a '89 Toyota Corolla GT-* coupe, which sold for $3300 (recent Japan-spec motor put in)
interior electrics and doors were barely functional... and fixed
although this Bonnie'* legacy may be coming to an end... rust and tranny issues

my parents always had a 1994 bonneville that had like 266k miles on it with regular oil changes and only the alternator went out on it that whole time they had it so then i fell in love with the bonnevilles. just got mine like a couple of months ago it had 49k miles and they wanted 8,000. for it. but i haggled them down to 6100. cash. and then it was mine.

After my '89 Escort got totalled by a flippin' Grand Cherokee, i got 1500 bucks from the insurance company for the damages. While at work one day, my gf calls me to tell me about cars for sale by her house. I go to check them out one day, and there it sits, the beautiful '91 Red SSE sitting in front of CUB Foods supermarket. I called about it and the lady met me up there so i could take a test drive. I sat in it and it was like an orgasm without the sex when i got in. I couldn't believe that she was selling this for only 2500 bucks! It only had 84K when i got it and the very nest day i went to her house to purchase my beauty. What a glorious day that was.

I just wanted something fun, comfortable, and different that could serve as a project car. I've always like performance luxury cars so leather seats with a supercharger seemed a natural fit. It was the first car I saw at the dealership, only car I test drove, and I took it home the next day and never looked back.
