Someone I don't know wanted to do a flat-out engine swap with his NA 3800 GP. He found out about the wiring job and just let the engine sit. This is a pulled Series II with a supercharger, and I don't know anything about it, except that it was going to run just fine had the current owner swapped it. What'* a good price range for an engine like this?

Let'* suppose that I should avoid taking that engine apart, but I'd still like to inspect it. What would be some things I should look for to get a better price estimate?

Check for coolant in the oil.
Turn the crank with a socket and take compression readings.
Turn the */C pulley by hand and listen for noise / look for play.
