Oh yeah, can someone explain the whole tint thing to me? What kind of tint should I get? What are the advantages of being darker, or lighter? And what about this fancy stuff I hear about that filters out UV and bright light but doesn't have to be very dark to work? Can someone help me out here? Thanks in advance

If you get tint, probably just go with regular black. It does simmer down the sun rays, and I noticed my car feels not as hot during the day with tint on. I got tint mainly for the privacy sake, people just cant walk by and look in, but they got to actually get up on the window and make themselves really obvious to the public that they are snooping around.

True. But I was really looking at it mostly for the heat-reducing properties and, well, hell, it looks cool :P Thanks for the advice, man

The lower percentage the darker [less light let in]. I've found [I cover my windows] is when I have them covered for an extended period of time [over 24 hours] of sun, the car gets hotter then it would when exposed directly [no tint whatsoever]. If I were to tint mine, it would probably be 50% all around or something that looks stock.. 75% if I don't like the 50.

Kyle:
Do yourself a favor and check out the tint law in your state here. http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html

Also check out the Tint Dude forums as there is a lot of information.

I live in Maryland and the ticket for illegal tint is $250 plus you have to remove the tint. Removing the tint cost almost as much as putting it on.

Tinted windows are nice on hot days and do offer some security.

Well, I got the name of a good place near me. Once I get the car, I'll take it down there, see what they say. I'm thinking something not too dark. I'll see. Thanks for the advice

You'll love the tint in FL. EVERY car gets blazing hot down there, i can't believe we never had it on any of our cars there. Woulda been nice in the dust buster (Transport)...

35% is good to me i think. And do all windows the same, don't do the sides lighter then the back, or especially the front windows differnet from the back ones.

What percent you plan on getting? I think 35% is the common legal limit for most states, and some states you can only tint the back, not the front, thats why stock tint is usually just in the back windows of vehicles.
