mine runs about 190-195 on highway, with a 195 thermo, and in city traffic with this florida heat, I have hit 220, before the fans kick on and cool down. You talk about heat soak lol

Kenn, When is the last time you had a really good coolant system flush? That may be part of your problem with crud build up especially where coolant makes a 90 degree turn.

Hrm.....
I've got the Intense 160 stat and INTENSE PCM as well.... but I'm running 190-200 on the highway when it'* cool out.... and 210 in the city on a hot day. :?
I think 210 is kinda high.....
How do you have your fans run when the cars turns off?

I just checked Intense PCM and they don't program 1996. I think the NA'* were series I, but the SC'ed are series II.

I think I saw something on the forums here about an aftermarket item that lets us choose to turn the fans on at a specified temp, or on all the time, or bypass which would be like it is now. I would like this , if it'* cheap enough, and reliable enouh. Some cars run cool with lower stat and fans on at low temps....obviously, ...but I know some cars also have trouble delivering heat in my cold climate after such mods. This is why an aftermarket device might be a better option for me.

Please... if anyone knows about the aftermarket device I'm talking about, ... let me know.

Thanks ... Sam

Glad you asked. I use the magic ZZP Estat that fools the computer into thinking the engine temp is 190 when it is really 160. :P It keeps the fans on all the time and goes into the 3min engine off run condition too. Very Cool and works like a charm. I can unplug it anytime and it'* back to normal....like for winter driving.
